Mt Rushmore Photo Op

The Silver Plume Railroad and Mine Tour

Sonny, Judy and Elizabeth with the Vetters

Maddie on the Elk River Ride

Wild West Vacation!

Our route ran from Kansas to Golden, Colorado. Then up to Steamboat Springs, over to Independence Rock, and up to Montana and the Custer Battlefield.

Next was Devil's Tower (where this picture is from), and then to Mt Rushmore and the Black Hills of South Dakota.

We drove 3500 miles in Irv, our trusty RV, guided by Susie, our navigator. Thanks to Sonny and Judy Maddox for a wonderful stay and tour in Golden. The Red Rocks Ampitheater and the Dinosaur Tracks were amazing, and I am so glad Sonny drove up the mountain in his truck at Rocky Mt. Natl park rather than me taking IRV over those roads. We also had the good fortune to have dinner with Elizabeth Denton, who is a newspapaer editor out there!

More pictures will follow!

The Vetters Clan

Everybody's growing up on me, and I'm growing out! Of course, Chris looks better than ever! How I got so blessed to have a crew like this I'll never know!

Fort Myers Beach Vacation

Spring Break '06 was very relaxing. We hung out at the Spahn's villa and played at the beach with the Baggott family on Sanibel Island. We even ate dinner one night at the Mucky Duck, a Baggott family tradition!

Reverse Raffle at St. Michael's

We had almost 400 people at the Reverse Raffle Saturday night. This is a shot of the crowd, the final contestants, and me, MC Daddy.

Maddie's Volleyball Team Celebrates at Starbucks!

Maddie's St. M's volleyball team closed out their season with an exciting win over St Lawerence Sunday, and celebrated at Starbucks. As they roll into the tournament let's hope they keep this winning spirit alive! So much fun!

Chris' New Doo

Chris decided to straighten her hair for the first time. Wow, a whole new girl! Here she is running the microphone at the Reverse Raffle. She's back to curly today, but one never knows what the future holds...

Carlos Martinez Joins the Parade!

Welcome to little Carlos! We went to Chicago to visit our new (and first!) Great Nephew! And he was GREAT. Never fussy, always just a little angel. Jenny and Omar are doing fine and getting settled in their new apartment, and they make quite a cute little family!

Comedy Sportz

Jesse and Andrew get ready for a Comedy Sportz Improv match. This is a lot like Drew Carrey's TV Show, except for high school teams of 5-6 students. We got to see a match at the Indianapolis Comedy Sportz arena and laughed uproariously!

Lord of the Rings Exhibit

Kurt and Chris were turned into Hobbits at the Lord of the Rings Exhibit yesterday. It was a little intimidating to look up at giant Jesse, Maddie and Jim. I was sure hoping they got what they wanted for Christmas!

Luckiy you can't see our hairy Hobbit feet!

Jesse and Mercury Rockin' at Maddie's Party

We had a big party in the back yard with Jesse's band playing for Maddie's friends. Jim helped with the trail and the bon fire, and Chris and I just sat back and watched the action. The weather was perfect that evening, but eventually turned into those tornados that hit Indiana so hard. No problems where we were, however, just lots of fun!

Maddie Elected President of St. Michael's Student Body

Maddie was elected President of St. Michaels School, which also got a national Blue Ribbon School Award from the Federal government. This is all pretty exciting. She was in a tight race with her friend Abby. I was so proud of her when I asked if she wanted to go get some Ritter's Ice Cream to celebrate, and she asked if she could bring Abby. Such a little lady!

Her tag line was "Little Person, Big Leader!" Congratulations Maddie!

Jimmy in Soccer Action

Jim's team has had a really good run this season. Here's Jimmy bringing in a pass before sending it off to Avery for a shot on goal!

This is the refugee center in Plaquemine. It does not describe at all the conditions inside. Lori Mayfield and I spoke at all three Masses and have coordinated through the parish an individual aid package to be sent to individuals there.  Posted by Picasa
